Network
Welcome

The network for Sustainable Economics was founded by the registered Association for Sustainability (GfN) in 2009. The aim of the network is to serve as a discussion and action forum for corporate stakeholders and as well as for scientists who want to contribute to the development of a Sustainable Economy.

Meanwhile more than 120 professors, academics, scientists, students and ecological interested persons are convinced that the traditional economy does not offer any solutions for the global problems of the 21st century and for this reason has to be reformed fundamentally on the basis of strict sustainability (including justice between generations and development within the limits of natural capacity of the earth).

In October 2009 the first international workshop “Basis of Sustainable Economics” took place in Berlin. It was supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU). During the workshop the participants decided ten statements, which will soon be available in English.
